Oh how I'd missed Pullman's world of damon's and armored bears! Once Upon a Time in the North, the little prequel to the His Dark Materials series has sat on my to-read list for ages, but I finally picked it up and read it in a day. It's a short tale following Lee Scoresby & Iorek Byrnison, two wonderful characters who play a part in the trilogy. Now I need to pick up the short little book that's timed after the trilogy - Lyra's Oxford. 7/10.
And if you haven't read His Dark Materials yet, DO! It's such an imaginative and wonderful story. So so good!
I'm rereading His Dark Materials right now and I didn't know this existed! Perfect timing.
